![]() ![]() McCoy went on to become one of the best RBs in the NFL. In a playoff loss to Dallas, McCoy only had 24 rushing yards. Philly went 11-5 under Andy Reid with McNabb at QB. McCoy only had a modest impact, with 637 rushing yards (4.1 yard average) and no 100 yard games that season. In McCoy's rookie season with the Eagles, Brian Westbrook was the starter, but he had an injury plagued season, with multiple concussions and an ankle problem. McCoy was 20 years old when he was drafted, just like Akers. Both players are slightly smaller than a prototypical NFL RB. ![]() Both players have issues as pass blockers. Both players carry the ball loosely have have fumbling issues. Both players have almost exactly the same timed speed in the 40. He's exactly the same height as Akers, down to an eighth of an inch. McCoy was the 53rd overall pick in 2009 and the 4th RB taken in that draft. Akers was the 52nd overall pick and the 4th RB taken this year. Though I'm not on the Akers bandwagon, he has several parallels with a great NFL running back, LeSean McCoy. I never got around to studying Swift from Georgia in detail, but he also looked like a promising prospect. I also had a 2nd round grade on Wisconsin RB, Jonathan Taylor, but he was taken at pick 41. Instead, CEH was drafted at the very bottom of the 1st round, the first RB off the board. Prior to the draft, I suggested that Clyde Edwards-Helaire should be considered a top option for the Rams with their first pick. ![]() I'm lower on Akers than most draft boards. I'm not a huge fan of the first Rams pick in 2020, former Florida State star RB, Cam Akers. ![]()
